Welcome to the Year 3 class page. Year 3 are taught by Mr Jones. Year 3 marks the transition from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2 and is an opportunity for children to develop their independence and take greater ownership of their own learning.
Some helpful information
Reading – We encourage children to read as frequently as possible outside school and ask that parents ensure they sign their child’s diary each time they read their school reading book at home.
Homework – Homework tasks are assigned on Wednesdays and should be completed and handed in by the following Tuesday at the latest. On alternate weeks, the homework task set will consist of activities on the Mathletics website. Please ask your child to write in their homework book that they have completed the Mathletics activities and hand it in as they would for any other piece of homework. Spellings are given out on Fridays and children are tested on these words on the Friday of the following week. Times tables tests also take place on Fridays with children being given practice sheets periodically.
PE – We ask that children bring in full indoor and outdoor PE kits to school at the start of the week and leave them in school until the end of the week. This is recommended due to occasional timetable changes which must take place.
